Race to Save Lives
The Race to Save Lives at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) in Mishawaka features a
5K, 10K and 1 Mile Walk that starts and finishes on the hospitals Mishwaka campus on Douglas Road. This years Race is Saturday, November 9 at 9:00AM.
The Race supports the programs of the Suicide Prevention Center (SPC). Sadly, we lose over 38,000 of our fellow Americans to suicide each year. Suicide ranks as the third highest cause of death among the young aged 15-24. Suicide is highest among those aged 45-54 which has seen a significant increase over the last 10 years. The SPC focuses on raising awareness regarding risk factors, warning signs and provides life saving skills through trainings in the community. We also offer outreach services to survivors who have recently lost a loved one to suicide through the LOSS program.
The Race includes a 5K Run / Walk, a 10K Run and 1 Mile Walk dedicated to the survivors who have lost a loved one to suicide. Click on the Race to Save Lives link in the right hand column for all the details including a registration form.
